Most of the areas of Utah are located at arid and high elevation. Many parts of eastern and the western parts of the state receive about 12 inches or less air than that every year. Some areas also receive rain even less than 10 inches. The Wasatch Front receives about 15 inches of rain every year. Utah comprises the Great Salt Lake Desert which most of the time remains dry receiving less precipitation annually. Snowfall is common in Utah especially during the winters. It can be seen in the entire state except the southern border and the Great Salt Lake Desert. The St. George area of the Utah receives about 3 inches of snow falling every year. The Salt Lake City receives almost 60 inches of snow every year which is about (1.5 m) annually. There are some mountainous regions that receive snow even more than350 inches annually. The Wasatch Range, receive sow up to 500 inches (12.7 m).
