Snowbird Oktoberfest

Welcome to Snowbird Oktoberfest, the event that is full of music, fun, dancing and entertainment. In this page by Utahxl.com you will come to know about the colorful Utah festival of Snowbird Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest Halle activities take place in the Snowbird Event Center tent and on the Plaza Deck. Both these places can be accessed from Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird Entry 2. The Snowbird Event tent gets filled with dancing, music and traditional German cuisine. Relish sauerkraut or bratwurst or apple strudel and the other lip smacking German delicacies. From small kids to old people everybody goes for face painting, inflatable rides, caricature artists, dancing, dressing a zany clown, and many other activities.

Regarding the history of Snowbird's Oktoberfest, it goes on like this: 35 years ago, two men costumed in leather lederhosen, were inspired by the lofty mountains that reminded them of their homeland, came to Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort for playing their accordions and singing songs in their native German tongue. Over the year, Oktoberfest became the premier festivity of German food, fun, dance and music. Every year this fest draws more than 70,000 visitors over the thirteen-day fete. Oktoberfest has taken the shape of one of the largest festivals in Utah. The fest also includes the Oktoberfest Halle that features the dishes of Bavaria coupled with entertainment from national and local German yodelers and bands.

The area of Kinderland offers fun for kids of all ages. In this fest there is also the Der Marktplatz where vendors from all the nooks and corners of the region come to hawk their wares. Here you will come across unique gifts and keepsakes as take-homes. This marketplace allows shoppers to surf through a myriad variety of crafters. There is art to suit every taste in Der Marktplatz!
