The Uinta Range of Mountains of Utah in Utah extends from Colorado in the east almost all of the way to Salt Lake City in north central part of Utah. It is the only range of this mountain that extends in both east and west part of the state. The important aspects of Mountains of Utah are Lakes and flat-bottomed canyons, formed by glacial activity; which are interspersed with mountains that reach over 13,000 feet above sea level. Kings Peak is the highest point in Utah. It was discovered in the Uinta Range.
The Wasatch Range of Mountains of Utah stretches from Mount Nebo in north central Utah northward into Idaho. The Mountains of Utah range from 6,
000 to 8,000 feet above sea level.
