Bryce Canyon National Park

The Bryce Canyon Park is a national park located in southwest Utah in United States. Unlike its name the park actually is not a canyon and is a huge ampitheater created by erosion in the eastern portion of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The national park has got a unique look called as hoodoos. The rock provides a unique spectacular look combining with red, white and orange colors. The park is located in Utah USA. The area where Bryce Canyon National Park is located has a very different ecology and climate offering a contrast for the visitors in the region.


The area was settled by the Mormon Pioneers during 1850s. It was named after Ebenezer Bryce who visited this area during 1875. This area was regarded as a national park in the year 1928. The Bryce Canyon National Park is usually less visited by tourists because of its distant location.

The Bryce Canyon National Park is located in the southern Utah about 50 miles north east and 1000 feet elevated than the Zion National Park. As the park is located at a high elevation, the weather here is cooler and the park receives more precipitation. This park was not formed from erosion and initiated from a central stream it is actually not a canyon. The park has series of amphitheaters extended more than 20 miles within the park. The Rainbow Point is the highest part of the park located at 9,105 feet high. It is at the end of the scenic drive.
