Utah Wildlife and Bird Watching

Because of Utah's diverse climate and terrain, a wide variety of wild life species can be readily seen here with little effort. Utah Wildlife and Bird Watching consists over 600 species of mammals, birds, fishes, reptiles, amphibians that have made Utah their home. Along the Wasatch Front, the Ogden Nature Center is the only city-cntered nature habitat in the state providing a wildlife sanctuary and natue trails. The Red Buttle Gardens on the Wasatch foohills on the east of the Salt Lake City, are the home for many species of mammals and birds. Over the Colorado state line on the east of Vernal area, the Dinosaur Natioanl Monument is a fine place to see birds as well as the bone of creatures that may be their ancestors. In the Dinosaur Quarry building, the fossil bones of Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus and other donisaurs are displayed on rocks where they are found. Outside is an arid, rocky landscape of sagebrush, greasewood, pinyon pine and juniper. Downstream on the Gren River, Ouray National Wildlife Refuge ranks as Utah's best bird watching site. The Fish Spring Natioanl Wildlife Refuge is another desert oasis where springs and seeps provide water for 10,000 acres marsh complex, attracting nesting grebes.
