The Timpanogos Cave trail provides a great glimpse to the history and culture of Mount Timpanogos. While the trail itself is free for hiking, the Caves are a natural wonder to both children and adults. Spread over one and half miles, the route offers some of the most scenic routes of the American Fork Canyon. There are other more serious and adventurous trails such as the Timpooneke trail and the Aspen Grove Trail. These trails are marked by many waterfalls and streams. The best time to take a hike is from spring to late fall. However, Mount Timpanogos provides a rough challenge during the winters and needs expert level of skills, for the region is prone to avalanches and a slide down the glacier route can be quite risky.
Mount Timpanogos is home to many wild animals including the mountain goats, deers, pikas and marmots. One of the eight Prominence Peaks of US, Mount Timpanogos offers some of the most scenic drives. The Alpine loop offers great twists and turns, sloping towards the American Fork Canyon. Thus, Mount Timpanogos, or Mt. Timp, as it is more popularly called, has some thing for everything, be it rest or adventure.
