The city of Orem is situated in the north central part of Utah in the Utah county. Its is located about 45 miles from the Salt Lake City. It is considered to be the fifth largest city in the state. The population of the city of Orem is about 89,713. The city has a total area of about 47.8 km². The Utah lake is situated on the eastern part of the city. The City of Orem is comfortably placed on the border of Provo, Utah in the east and near the foothills of Mount Timpanogos. The city was known as Provo Bench in the earlier times , named after Walter C. Orem who was responsible for the construction the railroads in the city in the early 20 th century.
