Provo

One of the major county cities of Utah Provo is located 50 miles south of Salt Lake City. The Wasatch Front is also quite close to the city. The city of Orem lies to its North and Springville city lies to its south. When 33 Mormon families from Salt Lake City came to settle down at Utah, they named the place Fort Utah. The city was however renamed Provo in 1850. Named after a Canadian trapper, Étienne Provost, the city today is one of the most renowned cities of Utah. With a large population of 115,135 people Provo is the third largest city in Utah.

Around 19,938 families consider Provo as their homeland. The demographic details of the city also claim that almost 88% of the population are white. Occupying an area of 108.2 square km Provo is an ideal city for all holidaymakers of the world. With a host of holidaying options like, rock climbing, scuba diving, hiking and skiing you can never forget the natural beauty of the region if you have visited it once. The Provo Utah Temple is located right in the heart of the city and is one of the busiest buildings maintained by the local church. Provo is also home to Brigham Young University which is a private Jesuit Institution. This institution has played a pivotal role in educating young minds since ages. Studded with canyons and sombre mountains Provo is indeed a delight to every visitor to Utah.

The people of Provo are politically conscious and they take part in every general election of the state. Lewis K. Billings is the present mayor of Provo. The mayor along with his team members have played a pivotal role in improving the condition of the state and the city. Visit Provo and experience a heavenly pleasure.
